The house at 2 Wittenoom Street is a large timber/fibro and iron bungalow with brick chimneys in a corner position. The original building site was advertised for sale by Jack Buswell in September 1907 (reference). The site was number 8 on the corner of Wittenoom and Fraser Street (reference). It is thought that the house was built soon after this.

Jack was the son of Joseph Buswell, a prominent businessman who owned a brick factory.

In 1950 the residents of 2 Wittenoom Street were advertising a Morris 8 Sports in good condition for sale as well as an American 4-burner Kerosene Perfection Stove with a full sized oven (reference).

In 1951, the house on 2 Wittenoom Street was owned and occupied by Laurence David Mickle. Limited information exists on Laurence in the newspapers. However, he was recorded to have injured his toe at the Amusu Theatre in the Great Southern in 1926 (reference). Laurence was also involved in an accident on the corner of Symmons and Wittenoom Streets on 26 June 1946 and was apprehended as he failed to report the accident to the authorities (reference).
