Apple Float

Ingredients
Topping
1 pint stewed apples
3 egg whites
4 tablespoonsful of white sugar
Custard
2 cups of milk
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoonful cornflour
1 tablespoonful sugar
Flavouring if desired
Instructions
Topping
To one pint of nice stewed apples add the whites of three eggs beaten to a stiff froth and four tablespoonful of white sugar; beat all together until very stiff.
Custard
Make a boiled custard with two cups of milk, the yolks of the eggs, one teaspoonful of corn flour, a tablespoonful of sugar, and flavouring if desired. Pile the apples on top and serve.
