There's good and bad in every sphere,

There's good and bad ones even here.

There's boys from East, and boys from West,

There's b——— rogues, and some of the best.

There's lads from Vic, where the gum trees grow,

There's Sydney-s de Saxons, the 'Cornstorks' we know,

Theres Adelaide, Tassy and Banana boys true,

There's lads from the camps in the Golden West too.

There's "Stockwhip Jim'' and 'Lariat Joe,'

And ' Dempsey the Nut,' from the Condamine Flow, '

And 'Saltbush Bill, from the Golden Mile

All entered the fray with the same cheery smile.

They came at the call of the dear Motherland

Whose honor and glory for ever must stand.

Their duty lay clear: roll in without fear,

Then peace, in the homes of our loved ones so dear.
