Joseph was born in England and died in Bunbury. He was the son of George. Joseph arrived on the Lady Amherst. Joseph married on 19/07/1866 to Mildred Mary Teede (15/04/1844-21/02/1907) in Beverly. Mildred was born in Guildford as the daughter of George Robert and Mildred May (originally Bird). John Taylor of Yangedine sponsored Joseph. Joseph was listed in the York Census 1859 as a Farmer, and his religion was Wesleyan. Joseph employed eight ticket of leave men at "Cubbine" and "Grady's Meadow" Beverley and three ticket of leave men at Williams River in 1868, 1869 and 1872. Joseph was a sheep farmer in Blackwood between 1875 to 1876.
