DILLEY, William

He arrived on 22/02/1847 on the Java. William was married in Fremantle on 26/12/1850 to Ellen Bayte (1829-01/10/1895). Ellen died in East Perth. She arrived on 22/07/1850 on the Sophia. Their children were Elinor (1851-1928) who was born in Bunbury, Eliza (1854-1922) who was born in York and died in Busselton, Frederick William (1856-1859), Emma (1858- ) and George Edmund (1868- ) who was born in in Capel. William was a Private in the 96th Regiment and stationed at Rottnest in 1847. He was later discharged in 05/1849. By 1850 he was at Fremantle as a butcher, then moved to Perth and listed in the York Census of 1859 as a sawyer with two servants. He moved to Vasse as a farmer in the 1870s. He employed a ticket of leave man at Capel in 1866. His religion was the Church of England, his wife Wesleyan. Both were Literate.

In
