He was an expiree meaning he had completed his convict sentence. Edward arrived on 21/11/1858 on the Edwin Fox. He married on 20/12/1876 to Emma Payne (1863-1951). Emma was born in Dongara and died in Fremantle. She was the daughter of Henry (alias John Williams ) and Frances. Their children were Charles (1884-) and Helena. He was listed as a schoolmaster, musician and jockey in Bunbury, Toodyay and Champion Bay. He was in Dongara as a farmer in West Australian from 1884 to 1889. He moved to Arrino in 1895 and kept a store and refreshment rooms. Emma, his wife, was the district midwife. He employed four ticket of leave men between 1866 and 1868 at Champion Bay.
