FISHER, Richard Jolly

Richard was born in Yorkshire, England and died in Wallaroo South Australia. He arrived from America in a whaler in 1840. Richard married on 29/09/1845 to Margaret Murphy (1829-11/06/1875) in Picton. She was born in South Australia. She arrived on 10/04/1842 on the Diadem. Their children were Eliza (1846-), Clara (1848-), Catherine Rebecca (1858-), Matilda (1860-), Ernest Jolly (1867-1880), who died in a buggy accident, Stanley (1867) and Arthur Ralph (1869). Richard was a shoemaker, then became a publican at Bunbury. He was the master of the vessel Frolic, in which he sailed with his family to South Australia in 01/1850. Three of their children - Eliza, Stanley and Arthur Ralph came to Western Australia in 1888.
