Samuel died in Toodyay. He was the son of John, who was a sailor. Samuel arrived on 26/03/1852 aboard the Mary. He was an agricultural labourer. He married on 03/10/1854 in Perth to Amelia Wisbey (1810-), a widow. Amelia arrived on 24/3/1854 aboard The Victory. Her stepson was Charles Wisbey, a retired hotel keeper from Bunbury. In Toodyay and Dandaragan, he was a farmer from 1850 to 1870. He employed four ticket of leave men in 1858, 1860, 1861 and 1871.
