He was born in England and died in Busselton. Haycock arrived in 1849 on the Mary as a Parkhurst Boy. He married on 14/1/1850 at York to Elizabeth Churchill (1831-30/08/1917). Elizabeth was born in London and died at Capel. Elizabeth arrived in 1849 on the Mary. She remarried on 05/10/1872 to Thomas Horton. Their children were Caroline (1851-1930), Frank, WaIter James, John James (1855-1936) and Thomas Giles (1860-1940), who died in Bunbury. In York, James was a shoemaker at the time of marriage and owned a Busselton Town Lot around 1857
