He was born in Walford, England. He was the son of John Norwood. He arrived 24/03/1887 on the Chollerton with his wife Selina née Robinet (1859-23/10/1929). She was born in England, died in New Norcia and was buried in Glentronie. Their children were James, Daisy, Alice Louisa (1886-) born in England, Jack who died in active service with the Australian Infantry Forces during World War I, George (1890-1922), Henry, Charles, David, Walter, Minnie and Selina (1900-1935). He was employed on the railway construction at Bunbury and Midland Railway. He lived at Mogumber and Gillingarra, then Midland Junction in 1903. He then moved to Waddington, New Norcia in 1906 and was a farmer. He was a Protestant.
