SHEAHAN, John

(07/11/1871-02/11/1951).

John was born in Victoria and died in Bunbury. He was the son of John and Ellen. He came with his brother Con from Victoria in the 1890s. On 02/08/1899, John married Susannah Hitchcock (08/04/1878-25/12/1961) in Northam. Susannah was born in Northam and died in Bunbury. She was the daughter of John and Eleanor. John and Susannah's children were Clara Sarah (1900-), Vera Gladys (1902-), Edward William (1905-1976), John Francis (1907-), Ivy Pearl (1909-1976), Ruby Grace (1912-), Ernest James e(1917-) and Douglas Leslie (1918-). He employed men as log haulers at Wellington Mills in Bunbury for a few years. In 1905, he bought "Cold Harbour Farm" in York, which was sold in 1909 to purchase "Jacob's Well" near Quairading. He then moved to "Dangin" and then Beverley for children's education, while John worked on a small block of land at the Dale.
