Frederick was born in York to George Robert and Mildred May (originally Bird). Frederick married on 09/06/1880 to Mary Crampton (01/10/1857-01/04/1946). Mary was the daughter of John and Frances (originally Moore). Frederick's children were Theodore Frederick (1881-1944), Percival (1882-1948), George James (1884-1884), Gerald Hordern (1885-1951), Ida Caroline (1887-1972), Victor Bird (1888-1940) and Norman Leonard (1891-1948). Frederick was a business proprietor in Bunbury. He was a butcher in 1877 when he signed a petition regarding discrimination against expirees. Frederick employed a ticket of leave cook in 1886.
