George left Australind to live at Guildford and went to York in 08/1847 to become a schoolmaster. He then became clerk of Courts between 1848-1851 and again in 1857 with added duties of Postmaster and Gaoler. George bought Town Lot 30 in 1854. He was a part of the Congregational Church.
