THOMAS, William

(-22/05/1886).

Wiliam drowned in Shark Bay, leaving a wife and young family. He was a Fremantle storekeeper from 1862 and may have been one in Bunbury from 1868 to 1869. Thomas went North West for pearling with Isaac Doust Junior on 18/12/1872. He bought the Dolphin on 17/06/1877. William employed 50 people in 1882. He bought the Lily Blanche, a cutter from 1882 to 1885 in Shark Bay. According to the Government Gazette, William was also in charge of the Post and Telegraph Station from 1878 to 1886. William may have been a police Constable in1884 and dismissed at Roebourne.

In
