James had served his penal sentence. James arrived on 11/02/1862 on the Palmerston. James was supposed to have left for the Eastern colonies on 11/07/1866. James employed five ticket of leave men at Bunbury from 1869 to 1871 and one at Williams in partnership with Young. James was admitted to Fremantle Invalid Depot as a pauper and Imperial Exchequer.
