TINDALE, John Henry

(17/07/1870-14/11/1955).

John was born in England and died in Perth. He was the son of John and Hannah (nee Hepburn). John arrived on 16/09/1887 on the Helena Mena with his parents. He married on 11/3/1896 in Perth to Caroline Louise Milford (09/03/1874-). She was the daughter of Henry and Alice Louisa (nee Bayliss). Their children were Nita (1899-), Gordon (1900-), Eileen (1904-), John (1907-) and Arthur (killed in World War II). John was a pharmacist but was stated to be a clerk on the shipping list. He was indentured in England and completed training in Perth under Edward Mayhew. He worked at York and Bunbury. After returning to Perth, he worked with Edmund Dean and Co. In 1894 he was at Guildford until 1951. He was the Vice President of the Guildford Swimming Club.
