Patrick was born in Ireland and died in Guildford. He was the son of Richard Michael Mary. He arrived on 13/06/1853 on the Sabrina with his parents. He married Mary Carlotta Teresa Butler (15/08/1856-). She was the daughter of John Martin and Mary. Their child was Patrick Aloysius (1895-). Patrick joined the Western Australian police force in 1873. He moved from Fremantle to Harvey in 1874, Victoria Plains in 1875 and Mt. Wittenoon in 1880. He was a sergeant at West Kimberley in 1886, Bunbury in 1888, and then Geraldton. He was a travelling Inspector in 1894 and resigned to be Goldfields Warden in mines deport and Resident Magistrate at Coolgardie (Bulong) Murchison in 1903. He was the acting magistrate in Perth, Midland Moora and RM (Swan). He resigned on 30/04/1916 because of ill health. His reports on Kimberley tours of inspection are memorable for detail and accuracy.
