WALKER, John

(1847-).

He arrived in Australia on 06/12/1876 on the Fitzroy from London with his family. His wife Jane Stephenson was born in 1847 in England. John and Jane's children were Frederick (1868-), William (1870-), Robert (1872-), Eliza (1874-1947) born in England, Sarah and Jane (1877) baptised at the Perth Church of England, Ellen (1879-) in Northam, Constance Annie (1882-) in Northam, John (1884-1886) in York and Henry (1886-) in Bunbury and died in Victoria. John applied for 100 acres in the Avon district in 1880 as an immigrant grant at Mt. Dick. He was a bricklayer and agriculturist before arrival. He was a labourer and railway worker in South Perth, Northam in 1879, York in 1884 and Bunbury in 1886. He left for Victoria and returned around 1890 with his family.
