WANSBROUGH, Eli

(01/02/1846-20/11/1920).

He was born in Perth and died in Bunbury. He married on 30/04/1873 to Elizabeth Manning (1844/1850-03/09/1919). She was the daughter of John Daniel and Mary, who arrived in Australia on 24/02/1852 on the Will Watch. Eli and Elizabeth's children were John Daniel (1874-1941), Hedley Manning (1929-), Aubrey Eli (1880-1940). Four of their children died in infancy. In 1869 he was a police constable in York in 1870, in Perth, at Champion Bay from 1872 to 1873, Roebourne in 1872, Vasse in 1877 and in 1879, he was the police constable gaoler at Bunbury. Later he was a carrier in Perth. He was educated at Perth Boys' School in the 1850s. He was a member of the Congregational church.
