WENN, James

(1838-).

He was born in England. He was the son of John and Harriet. James and his parents arrived in Australia on 20/08/1842 on the Simon Taylor. He married Helen Jarvis (02/06/1844-) on 12/01/1861 (Fremantle Congr). She was the daughter of James of Fremantle. Children 13, 8 of whom survived infancy. James and Helen's children were Edward Harold (Farrelly), baptised in 1861, Henry, James Rossmore, baptised in 1864, Thomas, John, Harriet, Francis, Fanny, Bertha and Esther Amelia. He later travelled to Bunbury, where he was a Whaler Captain - employed by William Ramsay. He was also a carpenter and boatbuilder. He owned land in Constitution Street, Bunbury. He employed a ticket of leave man in 1869. He was part of the Church of England.
