GILL, John

(1812-09/09/1833)

He came to Western Australia aboard the Jane from Tasmania. He married on 12/1843 in Picton to Mary Ann Heritage (1823-). She arrived in Western Australia on 06/12/1842 aboard the Trusty. Their child was Charles (1845-1875), who was lost at sea on the ship Wild Wave. John was a Soldier in the 21st Regiment, and he was discharged in 07/1840. After his service, he became a Carpenter, then a Police Constable. By 1849 he lived in Bunbury and bought Town Lot 1850. John was also a Gaoler from 1854-7 and then a Postmaster from 1855-7.
