GILL, Charles

Charles died lost at sea. Charles was the son of John of Bunbury. Charles was a Hutchison grazier at Murchison House owned by his uncle Charles von Bibra. Charles applied for 6000 acres. He received a pastoral lease in 1859, and he employed two ticket of leave men during 1868-9. Charles was well-loved by Aborigines since childhood. Charles went pearling in North West waters. He was the owner of the ships Wild Wave and Swan 1875. The vessel went down in a cyclone off Exmouth Gulf.
