JOHNSON, John Foster

 

(21/5/1848-15/05/1935).

John was the son of Harley Robert and Mary. On 17/06/1874, John had his first marriage with Frances Elinor Clifton (32/11/1851-18/01/1881). Frances was the daughter of Robert William and Christina. His second marriage was on 13/01/1886 with Catherine (Bessie) Elizabeth Hayward (08/1865-28/03/1942). Catherine was the daughter of Thomas and Catherine. John's Children were Harley Robert (1875-1920), Herbert Forster (1877-1947), Walter (1878-1941), Robert Hayward (1889-1968) Dora Frances (1891-1964), John Forster (1893-1917), Mary Annette (1894-), Harold Douglas (1896-1975), Eric Hayes (1898-1959), Nora Roberta (1905-) Wilfred Gordon (1907-) and Gervase de Clifford (1911-1976). John was a farmer, manager and later owner of "Leschenault" (Pearce Clifton's property). John was a Justice of the Peace for 44 years, a member of Wellington Road Board and a member of the Bunbury Building Society. He was also the owner of "Moorland Farm", which was given to two of his sons when he and his wife retired to Bunbury, where they lived with their daughter.
