(21/06/1815-20/03/1899).

James arrived on 02/1838 on the Gail Larden from India. James married in 1849 to Henrietta Flaherty (1831-13/11/1861). Henrietta was the daughter of Edward and Sarah Elizabeth (maiden name Chapman). Their children were Annie Matilda (1850-), Louis Henry (1853-), Ernest (1855-) and Blanche (1857-). His sons were educated at St. Andrews University. He owned Wellington location 1, 140 and 167 "Belah" at Vasse. He voyaged to the Abrolhos in 1842 on the Ocean Queen. James was in a partnership with Von Bibra and in 1845, they advertised a farm to lease in Avon districts. Sent collections of wildflowers to Kew in 1855. He went to India where he worked in the Railway Department as an engineer. Some of his children were born there. Mrs Mylne and the family of 3 arrived on 11/11/1887 on Board the Albany from Eastern countries. He bequeathed his Bunbury property to his son Ernest in trust to give occupancy to his sister-in-law Eliza Flaherty and the widow of Edward Flaherty.
