SHOLL, Richard Adolphus

(18/12/1846-09/05/1919).

Richard was born in Bunbury and died in Perth. He was the son of Robert John and Mary Ann. On 09/02/1872, Richard had his first marriage in Perth with Elime Florence Ashton (20/08/1851-02/11/1877). Elime was the Daughter of Henry. On 26/01/1887, Richard remarried to Mary Howard Sanders. Mary was the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Sanders of the 30th Regiment. Richard only had children with his first wife, and the children were Henry Robert (1873-1899), Treverton Charles (1875-1877) and Elite (1877-). During 1870, he worked in Perth as a 2nd Class Clerk at a Post Office, Chief Clerk in 1874 and Postmaster General of Western Australia from 1889-1909. In 1876 he was a Lieutenant in the Volunteer Rifles (Promoted to Major). Justice of the peace in 1891. He was a Perth City Councillor. He was with the W.A. Turf Club in 1879-1889 and a Committee member. He was a member of the Licensing Branch and also a member of the Cricket Club. He was educated at Hale School. He was part of the Church of England.
