FORREST, James

(1830-14/4/1919)

James was born in Scotland and died in Busselton. He was the son of Gavin and Elizabeth. James arrived on 06/12/1842 on the Trusty with his parents. He married in Fremantle on 16/08/1858 to Jane Doonan (1838-17/06/1918). Jane was born in Ireland and died in Busselton. She was the daughter of John, a stonemason. She arrived on 13/01/1853 on the Travancore. Their children were Elizabeth (1859-), Gavin (1861-), Ellen (1864-), James (1866-), Cecilia (1868-), Ann (1870-), John (1872-), George (1874-), Leopold (1876-), Daniel (1878-), Agnes (1879-), Thomas (1882-) and Valeria (1883-). From 11/03/1861 to 31/08/1872 James was a Western Australia Police Force member serving at Quindalup, Champion Bay, Bunbury and Lower Blackwood. He was a farmer and pastoralist at Margaret River-Cowaramup and "Thornhill" in Yallingup. He was a member of the Church of England.
