JACKSON, Joseph

(31/08/1865-1951).

Joseph arrived in Victoria in 1884 and then went to Western Australia. On 12/04/1898 Joseph married Harriet Jane Symonds (18/01/1881-1959) in Bunbury. Harriet was born in England and was the daughter of John and Jane. Joseph and Harriet's children were Joseph (who died in World War 1), Faith, Eve, Thomas Walter (1904-1975), Mary, Arthur, William, Madeline, Heien, Anne, Joseph. Joseph first arrived to work on the Albany-Perth railway before he went prospecting. He then visited England. After visiting England, he worked as a dairy farmer for "Spring Creek Farm" at Yarloop and then carted timber from Williams Mill and other mills to the railway until they closed. His wife taught sewing at Cookernup School.
