William died in Bunbury. He was the son of John. He married on 23/12/1866 at York to Ellen McQuade (1844-), the daughter of Peter (an Enrolled Pensioner) and Elizabeth. Their children were George Brown (1869-1932) born in Busselton, William Proudfoot and Elizabeth Frances. He came from Madras. He was listed as a Schoolmaster at York in 1867, at ReverIey in 1868 and Busselton in 1869. In 1870 he was the Secretary at Busselton Working Men's Association. In 1875 he became a Member of Vasse Board of Education, the Clerk of Courts, Landing Waiter, and Clerk to Resident Magistrate.
