MITCHELL, Valentine Camfield

(14/02/1868-27/01/1955).

He was born in Canning. Valentine was the son of William Owen and Isa Izon (maiden name Bickley). He was married on 12/02/1895 at Bunbury Church of England to Lily Amelia Moore (23/04/1870-24/01/1962). Lily was the daughter of John Arthur and Mary Eliza (maiden name Stallard). Their children were Olga Justine (1895-), Gem Christabel (1897-), Gladys Isa Bickley (1898-), Clayton Cleland Bickley (1900-), Lillian Agnes (1902-1904), Glen Valentine (1904-) and Pearl Kathleen (1907-). He was listed as a farmer at The Creek in Donnybrook. He was a member of the Preston Road Board 1896-1946, serving as chairman and a delegate to Road Board Conferences. Founding member, chairman and secretary of local Race Club Member of Horticultural Society and Agricultural Society of which he and wife were active supporters as exhibitors. His religion was the Church of England.
